We had to be the DJ and Disco at the end of the night because this venue has an 11pm CURFEW ON LIVE MUSIC. Luckily they do allow recorded music to be played from then until midnight.
It's always worth asking your venue for full details of any restrictions such as this.
Beware of venues with "noise limiters" or "sound limiters" many of which are set to switch off the mains to the band at quite a low volume. If such devices keep tripping the mains this will spoil the enjoyment of your event.
Music for dancing does not have to be stupidly loud (we value our hearing!) but experience has shown that it has to be loud enough or people just don't come onto the dance floor.
